No baby today...

So we went to L&D this morning and got all checked in.  They put me in a room and were starting to get things ready for my c-section.  Just as the nurse was going to put in my IV they got the results back from my amnio and baby is not ready to come yet.  My doctor came up a little while later and explained that even though he is guessing LO is about 7 1/2 lbs as best as they can tell from the test his lungs need a little while longer. So for now they are going to be checking me every couple of days and doing NSTs.  As long as baby keeps passing and my blood pressure doesn't go up any more then we will have him on the 24th which is when my c-section was originally scheduled for.  There is also a chance I could go into labor before then in which case they will go ahead and deliver him if I do.

It was a little dissapointing but I just want him to be healthy so if he is not ready than I am ok with it.  I just hope everything stays in check so he can cook a little longer.  The plus was after spending the last 2 days in and out of L&D I got to meet several nurses and staff all of who were wonderful!

Mom to my angel Mia born 04/18/2003 @ 25 4/7 weeks due to severe eclampsia and HELLP. Now enjoying getting to be a mom my miracle little boy Tripp who was born 03/21/11 and was full term! Baby #3 due 10/13/13!

    I must have missed your earlier post about it but why were they going to take the baby so early?

    When I went in yesterday my BP was up. i lost my first baby due to very sudden severe eclampsia. Because of my history my doctor would rather take him a little early than risk me getting sick. Thats why they did the amnio but since his lungs aren't ready they are just going to watch me really close for the next 2 weeks.
