I'm late to the party, but I diagnose and work with several (young) kids with ADHD. Because I work in an elementary school, it's prime time for diagnosing these behaviors, and many kids come in with this diagnosis from their pediatrician/family doctor. I agree with sprads and Moesten about consulting an outside agency, and can recommend a few, if you're interested. The agency I work for allows you to meed with the psychiatrist without being involved in any other therapeutic component, which is unique around here. Not sure if this is the input you're looking for, but I'm more than willing to help if you want access to any resources.
