Sophie the Giraffe ??

I've never heard never heard of this Sophie the Giraffe phenomenon but there was an article abt it in one of our local papers here in Tampa so I decided to look it up. The products look super cute, I think they're known for their Giraffe teether. Anyone know it? Love it? Hate it?

I have friends who have used Sophie with their LO's and swear by it for teething. I will be buying one for Ethan when the time comes.

we are a sophie the giraffe family. I always buy it for friends that have babies. DD#1 loved her sophie.

I read reviews that said the one problem with it is when LO's cram a leg down their throat ant choke on it. I think if I got it, Sophie would become a quadruple amputee.

DH bought it simply b/c it was the #1 most popular baby item on Amazon. Obviously DS doesn't know or care about it yet, but hopefully he'll enjoy it once he starts teething!

We received it as a baby gift and I didn't even have time to open it and read what the thing was, I just thought oh, what a cute giraffe! Then I was out recently in saw it advertised as a teether in a store and thought, great, I already have one at home. But I didn't know it was all the rage though, even better!

I got one since I had a $10 amazon code and am fully stocked up on diapers.

I probably wouldn't have spent $17 on a teether though. I was surprised when I opened it and that thought that went behind it though, its supposedly much more than a teether.

It is very soft though.

We have one (DS`s), but personally I think it's a glorified dog toy. Indifferent

It`s just a soft rubber squeak toy. It works as well as any other teether toy, but it`s been a staple for the French for 40+ years so some trendy mum had to have one and it`s been a ``it item/trend`` ever since. It`s so not worth $20 IMHO.
