Had my overdue baby! (birth story & PIP)

I was due on Saturday, March 5th ended up at the doctor on Monday, March 7th to discuss an impending induction. DH and I went home excited that we would have our lo on Thursday unless God had other plans.

Well, my water broke at home Monday night around 8pm, we called the doctor to confirm that we should head to the emergency room and were admitted to L&D by 9pm. By 10pm I was administered pitocin because I was 50% effaced and 2cm, but my water broke and they wanted to help move things along to lessen any risk of infection. I chose to start the epidural around 1am. Labor was very slow andI wasn't ready to start pushing until 21 hours later.

On Tuesday, March 8th around 4:30pm we watched the nurse prep the delivery room and the nursery nurse arrived to set up the warming bed and supplies for lo. It was so surreal. I started pushing at 4:45pm and our sweet girl arrived into the world at 6:45pm. She has stolen our hearts and is perfect in every way. A healthy 7lbs 14ozs, 20.25 inches with a full head of hair.

Recovery was brutal the night of her birth. I had a 2nd degree tear and only 2 stitches, but I was in severe pain from continued contractions, nausea and lightheadedness. Since then I've felt great, all things considered and we were able to come home today.

I hate that I complained about being overdue because it was worth every second and I would do it all again for the same result. DH & I are the happiest parents in the world!
