Twin Mamas a ?

Do you have/use one or two PNP? And if you have boy girl twins with two PNP are they both gender neutral or do you have one girly and one boyish style? I registered for a neutral one but I am really falling in love with a very girly one as well. And I think at some point we may need two, so I am just not sure what to do. I still have time to figure it out though.

  • I wasn't sure if we'd need two either, but we got 2 at our shower. We've been using both. We have one in our living room/dining room/kitchen area which is where the boys spend most of their time every day. We also have one that alternates between the bedroom and the den (depending on where we're hanging out at night). We have 2 boys, but ours are pretty gender neutral any way.

  • We have one right now thats pretty gender neutral. One is working really well for us right now, but I'm sure as they get older we will need another. Right now we only use it for naps and they can both fit together. I totally plan on getting a girly one for our second one...haha :)

  • Right now we have 1 originally it was because of space issues but now I am not sure that I would have 2. Ella has reflux so I let her sleep in her lamb vibrating chair but I dont like it being low on the ground during the night so I put it up in the pnp. That does not leave tons of room for Sophia but it works for now. When they get bigger, Ella wont need the chair and they will be sleeping in their cribs anyway. I would say if you had a multi level home it may be helpful but I dont see a necessity for 2.

  • If you plan to use your PnPs alot for both twins, for naps, securing both kids in a childproof area etc then you'll need two eventually. Once they start to move and pivot then you will have one child waking up the other in the same PnP.

    Other factors to consider are:

    1) whether you have a child proof room to place the kids in. If you have one child on the floor in the play gym and one in the PnP, that could work. If your house isn't easily childproofed (like mine), then two PnPs let you have both your babies in a secure area while you walk away and tend to something else.

    2) Whether you want to use bouncers/rockers/bassinets. If you have these or your child will only sleep in one of these, then you don't need two PnPs.

    3) how fast your babies grow. The weight limit for PnP in the higher position is something like 25 lbs. I have my DS in the higher position now and he's 17 lbs. Already the mattress layer is sagging. The PnP mattress *will* sag with use. It's just a matter of how fast. I did worry a little about SIDS and a non-flat mattress, but they're already 9mos adjusted.

I have BG twins and two in the same neutral design, but it's really personal pref. and whatever goes with your decor.

You could always just get one and try it out with both babies, then decide if you need another. Hth and sorry for being all over the place.

Not a twin mama...just butting in...

If you're considering something for sleeping in, that's portable and doesn't take up much space, look into the RnP (Fisher Price Rock 'N Play sleeper).  It is small, very portable, GREAT for fussy/colicky/reflux-y babies.  It takes up next to no space, and I had it next to my bed at night.  I could sneak it out into the hall if we wanted to while he was sleeping. Or out in the living room.  THis is my 4th child and I wish I had this for the first three!!  I had DS in it until he was 6 months corrected.  Loved this product!!

  • We always only had the one PnP. It was a beige "sleepy safari" one. At home, having just one worked out fine for us. However, now that they're bigger, if we go anywhere overnight I have to borrow a second from a friend.
