DH is on my last nerve!!

I love my husband, but he makes me so mad sometimes.  Our upstairs toilet is broke, and has been for months.  It wasn't much of a big deal until recently b/c now I have to go to the bathroom constantly!  So, he has tried to fix it several times with no success, and I have been pushing him for the past week to call a plumber.  He has been trying to reach this plumber who his parents recommended.  However, he hasn't been able to reach him.  I got the names of a few other plumbers at work today and they are all going to charge at least $300.  Which is pretty expensive.  So, DH decides he is going to attempt it again, but this time he has to get on the roof....I'm not sure why you have to get on the roof to fix a toilet, but whatever.  Now, the weather outlook is so bad in the near future!  We have rain, snow, and more rain!  I don't know that I feel comfortable having DH get on the roof or worse yet, attempt to fix the toilet and fail again.  I am so sick of this.  I just wish DH would suck it up and pay a plumber!!!  Sorry about the vent, but I am just stressed and miss my upstairs toilet!

(We live in a cape cod and only have a half bath upstairs.  So, it's not our main bathroom, but it is nice in the middle of the night instead of having to go downstairs).

    I would tell him that until he has the toliet fixed thats his new bedroom. haha.

    I am so sorry.  But this made me laugh.  Hubby says that if your house if older then there is venting could be going up to the roof.  Sometimes you may have to clean it out to get the toilet to work.  Why I have no clue but that is what he said.  Just asked him and he says it has to do with airflow and preventing clogs.

    lol that sounds like my husband! Our dishwasher had been making huge banging noises for like TWO MONTHS! It was so loud that you could hear it all the way upstairs. I was like I guess we'll be using the dishwasher only when baby's awake. So he eventully looked at it and it turned out two years ago one of the old tenets who he had rented the place out to before we got married and moved in here had broken a plate in it. He pulled out some tiny piece of china out of it and now it runs fine. But yea the whole thing drove me nuts and freaked me out I was worried he would pull out the dishwasher and break a pipe and like flood the house or something, so I feel your pain. But I hope it turns out like my situation he works on it finds some small fix and everything's fine and he's your hero!
