Question about baby wearing

W really likes to be worn, and I wear him when we're out shopping but I rarely wear him around the house because it's difficult for me. All we have right now is a cheap infantino carrier, it's uncomfortable to do much of anything except stand and walk while wearing it so it doesn't help me to be hands-free very much.

I'd love better options for wearing him around the house. Something I could do a few chores like swiffering or laundry while wearing W, and maybe even something I could nurse while I'm wearing him. I spend so much time just sitting and rocking W and letting him nurse/comfort suck, he's a difficult napper so sometimes I sit in one place for 2+ hours at a time just so he can get a good nap on my lap. If I could wear him while he's sleeping my life would be so much easier.

What would you recommend for me?

There are tons of different options depending on what you like and want. Have you read the BWing guide linked in NCBelle's siggy? It has info about all the different types of carriers.

I have not, but I found it and will take a look!

  • I have an Ergo that I like a lot. My LO falls asleep all the time in it, but it is not that easy to nurse in. Beco Butterfly, Beco Gemini, Boba and Pikkolo are all well reviewed brands.

I am not really big on nursing and babywearing, but my guess would be a wrap or ring sling would be the easiest.  Hopefully some else can help with that?

  • For around the house, I love my ring sling from Sleeping Baby Productions.  Cheap and easy!

For general use, the Ergo is awesome.  It's not cheap, but it can be used well into toddlerhood.

I'm also a huge fan of our BabyHawk, which folds up nicely into a diaper bag or glove box.

  • i nursed my ds in the ergo from about 6 months till 2...im larger chested though so i had to use one hand to support myself while he nursed, he would usually fall asleep after nursing and i could tigheten everything back up and go on wearing him through his nap...for the next baby i bought a ktan for the first few months to nurse and wear in and then i will use the ergo again
