I think I do at least...
so our basement flooded with sewage last wkend that had backed up from the county sewage line that was tapped out due to excessive rain. my insurance cut us a check today, but the costs exceed it probably by a couple thousand already, and that's now counting what we've been quoted to pay to fix the problem so it doesn't happen again. fixing meaning getting a backflow preventer from the city sewage line.
is there anything we can do to regarding the county infrastructures or are they at fault for this happening? or is it our fault? it was just our house effected on the street. we are trying to make sure we are asking the right questions and getting the answers we need to get this fixed properly.
Re: I need legal/insurance help
MOST homeowners insurance policies have set limits of either $10k or $15k in sewage backup, that is all they pay out.
You can contact the city but I doubt they will pay you the additional amount.
Good luck!!!
Oh I just want to hug him and you!! About 4 minutes on the phone and he filled me up with so much good info. Too bad he is down there, but I can't thank you enough for having him help point me in the right direction!
Off to battle the county....
