TTC After a Loss

does anyone here have a hyperthyroid?

if so, what were your symptoms if you dont mind sharing?

Re: does anyone here have a hyperthyroid?

  • Yes!  I just found out that I'm now hyper.  I have always been hypo and on synthroid to correct it.   My TSH levels were normal in Sept, and early Dec (m/c late Dec), and now they are too low.  I just spoke to my OB's nurse about this today.

As for symptoms, it's hard to tell b/c its confounded with all the m/c hormone shifts.  However, I can defn say I'm having more trouble sleeping, have lost 10lbs, and feel very jittery/anxious, and tired.

     What symptoms are you experiencing?

  • im not sure....i always feel like im nervous/stressed...but that is bc i am...im constantly worried about selling our house and worried about TTC.  i still work out regularly so i wouldnt say im extra tired (except for the afternoon slump!).  i havent lost weight - but if i dont make a concerted effort to take in a certain amount of calories a day, i will.  the only reason im thinking about it is bc my mom has a thyroid problem as does my sister...so im hyper aware of everything going on with my body right now....
  • Yeah, I'm starting to feel really nervous/jittery/stressed all the time - for no reason.  I'm pretty sure this is a symptom.  It's also been harder to concentrate on things.

My mom and aunts have thyroid problems, and I know there is a huge genetic component.  I would recommend getting tested.  It's a simple blood test and then you'll know.  I've been tested w/ my family doc and also my OB.  Either could do it.  Because of the abnormal results with my TSH, antibodies, and my recent m/c, I'm settting up an appt w/ an endocrinologist for further testing/treatment.

Let me know if you have additional questions!
