A co-worker & I were just reminiscing about some of our favorite toys we had as kids.I'm a girl of the 80s... I loved my Lil Miss Dress-Up doll....where you filled metal-tipped wands with either hot or cold water & could draw on her clothes & part of her hair (turning it pink or blue). I was also a fan of Barbies & telling stories with Barbies (i.e. creating weddings, dates, playing house, etc.)So, on this random, sleepy Thursday afternoon, I ask.... what was your favorite toy/toy theme? I love hearing what other people have to say...it often sparks my own memories of long-forgotten toys
Oh I had soo many of those toys!! Cabbage Patch for sure, Lite Brite (I used to write messages to Santa and leave it in my window!!)
Also, my BFF and I had these bikes...sorta? We called them Big Wheelers cuz they had HUGE wheels and you were basically sitting on the ground and when you pedalled your knees would come up to your armpits.. but they were awesome. Mine was Mickey and hers was Cabbage Patch.

My favorite were these cloth dolls with hard plastic heads, shoes and hands.. Playground Kids. My sister and I would play with those and Barbies for hours a day. Too fun. Can we transport back in time for a day and play with all these toys?
Hm....cabbage patch kids, pound puppies and my little ponies!
This! I loved all those things and also Barbie and Strawberry Shortcake dolls.
Oh yeah can't forget Strawberry Shortcake! My whole room was decorated this way. Remember how they use to actually be scented? I smell that fake strawberry now and it takes me right back!

Alfie (the thing that was shaped like a robot and talked to you telling you shape and math and you had to pick the correct answer - they now sell them again at Toys'R'Us)
I loved playing outside so I was a fan of the mud and making mud pies, drawing in mud with sticks, making grass "forts" after my parents mowed the lawn, etc.
funny remeber all the old cartoons, my husband is downloading a bunch for my kids they love Smurfs, Gummy bears, Rainbowbrite, just as much as we did as kids.
I LOVED my Teddy Ruxpin to death. I was infatuated with that toy, lol.
I also loved this stuffed Catz plushie. It was a black cat with white paws and mouth. I named her Boots. It had accessories that made sounds when they came in contact with certain parts of the cat. The brush made the cat purr. The bowl of food made the cat make munching noises. I loved that thing. Since its mysterious disappearance many many years ago, I have found a gray one on ebay in great condition but without the accessories. I have it around to remind me.
I used to write books about Boots. And my brother and I would use his Knex which were also awesome toys... and we'd build things like elaborate cars to transport Boots and his Dogz plushie around. It was so fun.
Most of my favorite toys were stuffed animals. I had a vivid imagination and would just create worlds with them as its inhabitants.

Hot Wheels. Remember those plastic bikes with the big front wheel? I had a pink one, and rode that thing all over the place.
