Heard heartbeat on home doppler (7w2d), now cant find it.

I heard trhe heartbeat yesterday for a few seconds (147 bpm). Im about 7 1/2 weeks and was amazed I heard it at allt his early, but it was definitely it. Since then--no luck. Tell me not to worry...I know this is incredibly early in general. Happen to anyone?

It is definitely too early. I'm honestly surprised you even heard it for a few seconds. I didn't think it was possible to hear before 10 weeks at the earliest.

I have never heard of anyone hearing the heartbeat that early. I would honestly put it away for a couple weeks......it is way too early. You will just drive yourself crazy. I have never heard h/b's on dopplers until at least 12 weeks with all 3 of my PG's.

I'm 100% certain you didnt hear the baby's heartbeat. You probably were getting a Double reading of your heartbeat. IRS physically impossible to hear the heartbeat this early.

I'm sure everythig is fine.

Ditto. OB's don't even try to find a heartbeat until you are 10 weeks plus. I am sure all is fine.

Seriously! I just got my doppler yesterday and at almost 13 weeks, I still couldn't find it. About to try again!

Ditto everyone else. Don't freak out. You were hearing your own heart beating. Put it away for a few weeks until the doctor can hear it at an OB visit with a doppler.

I'm going to say you picked up your blood flow or something and the reading was just off. I've used my doppler a TON and NEVER got that early, and the reading was always wonky until at least 11 weeks. And then some.

So a huge "NO WAY you get to worry" and a "PUT THAT THING AWAY GIRL!" as well ;-)

Ditto this - put away the doppler! This is why despite my intense anxiety I refuse to ever get one, they cause more harm than good.

I am amazed you found it this early! I wouldn't worry about not finding it again. In the early days I often had that issue and that was at 10 weeks not 7. Sending you lots of happy thoughts till your next u/s.

I disagree with those saying you didn't hear it but in agreement with those that say you probably have nothing to worry about.

I found my baby's heartbeat prior to 8 weeks with this pregnancy and yes, it was the baby's heartbeat, not my own, I know what it sounds like. When I was that early I always made sure I had a full bladder before trying to find it and I also propped my hips up on a pillow. That seemed to make it easier to find, although admittedly, by easier I mean it would take 15 plus minutes to find it. Normally my doppler (a SonolineB) wouldn't actually register the heartbeats per minute because I think there were too faint. I could hear it though.

I'm not going to tell you to put the doppler away because that would be hypocritical of me. So instead I'm going to tell you to try again later, after drinking a ton of water and have patience.

If you did hear it - it was a total fluke and you can expect to NOT hear it again for several weeks. At least a month. And thinking about it some more - I think it was prob something else because I think you can only get heartbeat on a vag u/s at this point - and even then - they don't "hear" it - you see it. I don't think it's audible yet.

I agree with the others who say it is extremely early to hear a h/b on a home doppler. But even if you did hear it yesterday, be reassured that this doesn't mean you should necessarily be able to hear it every time. I speak from experience here -- I heard the h/b at home at 10 1/2 weeks, the day I got my doppler. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it the next day no matter how hard I tried. I knew it was early, but I thought once I was able to hear it once, I should be able to hear it every time if I looked long enough. I freaked out -- like emergency visit to the OB's office for an u/s freaked out. All was fine. But my doppler success was still inconsistent afterwards, even at 12 weeks and some change. I had to put it away because it made me crazy.
