I'm sorry guys, I know this has been asked a lot at various times. I was going to buy all my CDs from online boutiques but now I see that Target and BRU carry the major brands, and it'd be nice to add those to my registry. Did anyone else register for CDs or did you just buy them yourself?
Also, for those of you planning to use CDs:
1)What brand(s) did you pick? (I can register for Fuzzibunz, Flip, Bum Genius or G Diapers, I think)
2)For what main reason did you choose that/those brand (s)?
3)How many of each size did you get/register for? (If you didn't pick all-in-ones, how many inserts/covers did you need?)
4)Are you using a regular trash can or a diaper pail to throw dirty CDs in? (I'm thinking of using a trash can with this liner: https://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=369
Thanks for any help!
Re: Cloth Diaper Registry questions/poll - Help please!
I would go ahead and register for cloth diapers and then buy whatever I need to supplement after my shower.
1) I am planning to use Fuzzibunz
2) I didn't do any research, but my sister did a lot and tried several and loved Fuzzibunz. We will be using her hand me downs and buying a few more.
3) My sister is giving me 12 newborn and 18-24 smalls (can't remember exactly). I think she has the same number of inserts as covers.
4) Not sure yet.
I would post these questions on the Cloth Diapering board (if you haven't already). The FAQs on the board also touch on liners/pails, etc. There has also been a spreadsheet created with reviews:

I have both Target and Amazon registries set up.
At Target I registered for a couple of the different brands, because I don't know what will work best for baby girl or what DH and I will like to use best.
Also I've been building our OS stash myself off of Spots and some of the cloth-diapering websites and really am just hoping our registries will fill in the gaps. But I registered for the sized Fuzzibunz and gDiapers so that we could have a few diapers that were a bit trimmer for going out under tighter clothes.
Target: FuzziBunz, bumGenius, CharlieBanana,gDiaper
At Amazon I used that mainly to register for some newborn diapers, because my NB stash is seriously lacking. And then I also added some bigger contours and pre-folds to the registry to go with the covers I already have.
Amazon: GroVia Newborn AIO's, FuzziBunz XS (because the smallest Target carries is size Small), Happy Heiny's Mini
Oh I also added the GroVia pail liner to my Amazon registry. I plan on using this pail liner with a regular trashcan (with a lid).
Hope this helps. This is just what I did. I've never cloth diapered before..so I'm NO expert! Haha. But I'm really excited to cloth diaper our little one!
I didn't put any cloth diapers on my registry but that is because I am still undecided on what I truly want to get.
Also with my friends and family its customary at the baby shower to do a diaper raffle. Normally everyone brings a box of diapers and gets a raffle ticket for a nice prize. The host for my shower made these really cute inserts to my shower invitation saying "LO is going to be a cloth diaper baby. Should you wish to participate in the diaper raffle, instead if bringing a package of diapers we will be selling raffle tickets for $5. All money collected will go towards her cloth diaper stash." She then took the little insert and made little "cloth diapers" out of felt ans safety pins and glued the insert to the diaper.
We are going with pockets, or more specfically bum genious 4.0. Between Grandmas, husband and daycare, this is the easiest option for all of them. Now, if I was a stay at home mom, I would most likely do more prefolds and fitteds. As far as how many, I'm not sure. I've registered for 12 of them, so we'll see how that goes. A friend of mine said that she was going to give all of her stuff to me, but she has yet to do so ... so I'm just waiting for it to all fall into place.
A thought for you might be to do a trail like Jillian's Drawers. That way you get to try different brands and see what you like the best.
Have you heard of a wetbag? If you wanted to, you could skip the garbage can altogether. Lots of people on Etsy sell wet bags.
We registered for some Bum Genius diapers on BRU. No one has bought them (shower is Sunday). They are online only.
1. We went w/ BG b/c they are the most affordable pocket diaper. We wanted pockets b/c we will be using daycare. I did not want AIOs b/c I read that they can take up to 3 days to dry! Insane! FB look ok but were more $$. Flip and gdiapers have a flushable insert, and we are on septic (not sewer) so we can't use those. Like pp said, if I were a SAHM, I would do fitteds and prefolds with covers IN ADDITION to the BGs. I have heard BGs are awesome for nighttime. Pocket diapers (BG, FB) come with liners already. You can buy more if needed (we probably will get some super absorbent hemp liners for nighttime).
2. Oops. Already answered in #1. :-)
3. We have 18 so far (that we bought ourselves from an online store called Squishy Tushy). I am hoping that will be enough. They are OS so we will use them for 8-35 pounds. We are doing disposables for the newborn stage. We are registered for 3 more 2-packs of BG.
4. We are using a wetbag I got off etsy. I chose the fabric to match the curtain fabric. :-) The wetbag can go in the laundry with the diapers. I will get another, smaller one for travel, etc. We only have one diaper-changing station at home, so only one big wetbag for us.
I registered at Kelly's Closet for most of my stash, and put a few BG's and Kushies on my Babies R Us registry, just in case.
)What brand(s) did you pick? I registered for some BG's, prefolds, Thirsties Covers and Diapers, Rumparooz and Lil Joeys. I didn't want to stick to one brand in case it doesn't work for us.
2)For what main reason did you choose that/those brand (s)? Online research, mainly the reviews on the CD Diapering board and on Kelly's Closet and Jillian's Drawers
3)How many of each size did you get/register for? I think I registered for about 30-35 newborn diapers, and then 10 of each size and then 10 one sized.
4)Are you using a regular trash can or a diaper pail to throw dirty CDs in? We are going to use a Planet Wise Hanging Wet Bag. I liked the idea that I could just throw it in the wash with the diapers.
The only thing new I have to add - that I dont think any of the PP mentioned is that most newborns won't fit into a packet or AIO diaper at first - although I have heard that the Bum Genius Elementals in size XS are good for newborns - so you may want to consider buying/registering for prefolds or fitteds for the newborn stage!
If you are doing an Amazon registry, you can add those there!
1)What brand(s) did you pick? (I can register for Fuzzibunz, Flip, Bum Genius or G Diapers, I think)
I am going with bumGenius.
2)For what main reason did you choose that/those brand (s)?
A friend of my swears by her BGs.... so that is what I bought. I also am reading great things about them. Over on the CD board they recommend that you get different types of brands to make sure that they fit your baby. My friend said she tried other brands and her husband had issues stuffing the diapers with the other brands. She said if she could do it again she would buy exclusivity BG.
3)How many of each size did you get/register for? (If you didn't pick all-in-ones, how many inserts/covers did you need?)
I picked bumGenius 4.0 One Size Pocket diapers. I also have on my registry One Size Fuzzi Buns.
4)Are you using a regular trash can or a diaper pail to throw dirty CDs in? I ordered a Planet Wise Wet Bag. (The one that hangs on the door nob) I can then just throw it in the washer then once it is filled. It is a pretty big bag!

Like another PP, I made a registry at Kelly's Closet. Our only other registry is at BBB and they only carry gDiapers.
1. Brands: I have a small collection of BumGenius (2 XS, 3 S, 3 M, 4 OS), and the newborn set from gDiapers (was a gift). I registered for 1 or 2 of several brands/styles: GroVia (newborn AIO, regular AIO and OS), FuzziBunz (Small, OS), Rumparooz (OneSize and covers), plus a random selection of Thirsties and Bummis covers. I plan on buying Green Mountain Diaper prefolds and/or workhorse diapers fur use in the covers.
2. The have several friend who cloths diapers and each have a different favorite brand. Plus, they all have different favorites for certain times of the day (out-and-about, nap time, bed time, etc.). I figured we would use mostly prefolds and covers (cheapest option) until we know what brands/styles work best for us.
3. Like I said, I registered for 1 or 2 of several brands, but the bulk of the stash will be prefolds. My goal is to have 24-36 TOTAL diapers (prefolds, AIOs, pockets, all together). I also plan on having 6 covers in each size (some of the covers are OS, some are sized).
4. I plan on using hanging wet bags for dirties. I will have one wet bag by the changing pad for wet diapers, plus a mesh bag for covers (so I can easily launder them and still have them separated for air drying), then another wet bag hanging next to the toilet for dirty diapers after they have been sprayed.
I registered for the Bum Genius diapers at Target and BRU. Target and BRU just have 2 packs of a few of the colors, so I probably have registered for about half of the amount I want to get. The rest I will buy myself online so I can get more colors.
1)What brand(s) did you pick? (I can register for Fuzzibunz, Flip, Bum Genius or G Diapers, I think)
I am doing Bum Genius One Size 4.0 exclusively.
2)For what main reason did you choose that/those brand (s)?
One of my friends has used them with her 2 kids and loves them.
3)How many of each size did you get/register for? (If you didn't pick all-in-ones, how many inserts/covers did you need?)
I plan on getting about 24 of the One Size's. (I will be using disposable diapers in the very beginning since I hear the One Size's don't fix newborns well.)
4)Are you using a regular trash can or a diaper pail to throw dirty CDs in?
I heard a regular step trash can with lid (30L/8 gallon) plus a Planet Wise pail liner works great, so that's what I'll be doing. I just ordered my Planet Wise liner last night on Amazon.
I'm going to check out trash cans at Target today.
1)What brand(s) did you pick?
We will be doing BG and FuzziBunz for the most part. I'm also registered for Flips and GroVia. We'll see what we get from our registry and decide what else to purchase.
2)For what main reason did you choose that/those brand (s)?
I have IRL friends using both brands and they like them. They get overall good reviews from most users and fit most babies. I want to keep things simple for DH.
3)How many of each size did you get/register for? (If you didn't pick all-in-ones, how many inserts/covers did you need?)
I would like to eventually have about 24-30 diapers. I plan to wash every other day, but I also know how quickly I fall behind on regular clothing laundry. Thus, I'd like to have a little wiggle room in case I get too busy. I plan to get a few different types of inserts and find what works best for us. We'll start with what comes with the diapers and branch out only if necessary.
4)Are you using a regular trash can or a diaper pail to throw dirty CDs in?
We will have two hanging bags plus wet bags for travel, diaper bag, etc. I plan to hang the dirties in the restroom and the clean one behind it on the same hook. When I wash the diapers, I'll wash the bag too. I'm registered for the Fuzzibunz hanging pail, but if we don't get it, I'll buy the PlanetWise ones.
