NBR: Curtain rod

I have a window that measures 83" wide (including window moulding). Would I be ok with a curtain rod that measures 48"-86", or should I go with the 86"-120" one to be safe? I can't imagine I'd mount the brackets much past the top corners of the window moulding, but I'd hate to come up too short. Hmm..

There's only an $8 price difference on the one I'm looking at, between the 86" and 120" one, so maybe I should spring for the larger one?

Please, oh please, help me make this life altering decision.Smile

  • I'd go with the bigger one.

  • I'd go with the bigger one. If you go with the smaller one it doesn't give you much wiggle room and you don't want to be looking at the molding once the curtains are hung.
  • The bigger one for sure!  It actually is a good idea to hang the rod a little wider than your window(higher too if the curtains are long enough), It can make the room and window look larger and when the drapes are open, the light isn't being blocked.

    See the difference?

  • Ok, y'all talked me into the $8 splurge. hehe.
And thanks for the visual, kmb--that makes sense!
