Picture prop/setting ideas - Boy

I need to get Alex in for some 6 month pictures.  Do you have any suggestion for cute props or settings for a boy?  Someone mentioned a diaper and a tie.  What else?  I don't have any special outfits that I am particularly excited to use.. Creativity is not my strong point.

    A friend of mine just took her son to get photos and they had the cutest props.  The baby was sitting in a big cooking pot, naked aside from a chef's hat, holding a wooden spoon and there were some plastic vegetables in the pot with him.  It was cute, although as I write it, it seems like a photo of cooking your baby (blagh!)

    I wish I knew!  The boys need their 6 month photos done, too.  I have some cute outfits for them but I'm unsure about props.

    I say don't worry so much about the props! Spring is a great time for pictures! Get them outside and get some pictures. Are they sitting yet? You can get some sweet shots of them in front of flowers or in the grass, field etc, or have someone blow some bubbles.  Laying on their tummies and pushing way up on fully extended arms is still cute as you usually get good eye contact when they do that. If they are not sitting unassisted I put the bumbo chair in a big basket and just cover it with a blanket so you can't see it. I've also seen them sitting in the big galvantized metal tubs with rubber duckies or something if you definitely want more prop/themes. Or how about just sitting with a onesie that has a six on it.   I will admit I'm also a sucker for adorable hats! Have you seen the crocheted sock monkey hats over on etsy?  ADORABLE! I just ordered one for my daughters pics

    Also head over to flikr and do a search for "6 month photos". I'm sure there are plenty to view over there for inspiration!

    LOL!  Cooked baby!  I like the idea, but you're right - the execution sounds little off...

     Thanks XtraKristi - great ideas.  I will look for some inspiration (and imitate!).

    We are combining Dylan's 6 month photos with an Easter theme...so my photographer is bringing live white bunnies and possible a big ceramic cracked egg for him to sit in.  I was also going to get a basket with plastic eggs and let him munch on them since he is sitting on his own and does this with his blocks.  I got him a plaid shorttall outfit with a "drivers" cap.  I ordered it online so I haven't seen how it looks on him yet.
