Name your car?

Someone blew a stop light earlier this week totaling my beloved little Corolla. We're now trying to find a replacement and let's just say it's been awhile (he drives a 1994 chevy, mine was a 2001)!  Plus there's the car seat factor for the next several years.  I know we want something used with decent gas mileage and car seat friendly.

All this leads me to wonder: What do you drive?

  • We have a Corolla and a Sienna. How about just moving up to the Camry?

  • I drive a Mazda 3 and I adore it!  It gets great gas mileage, is zippy, carseat friendly, has great trunk storage, and really easy and fun to drive.

  • I just bought a new (to me) car a few months ago.  We got a Volvo S60.  It fits a carseat and has decent trunk space.  It's also fun to drive and gets good gas mileage! :) My DH has a Saab 9-0 and he loves it as well :)

  • 2007 Honda Civic. I love it and its very car seat friendly.

  • I have a Rav-4 and really like it. I sold my (beloved) Corolla before moving out here, great little car. Never had a problem with either of my Toyotas! My Rav-4 has a great amount of trunk space and even more when you fold the back seat flat. Even the basic model looks good, inside and out.

  • We have a Cobalt and really like it, although now that the Cruze is out on the market, it looks even better.

  • I drive a Corolla, too, and DH drives a Mazda Protege.  His car is ancient, IMO, but they're both paid off.  Whenever #2 is on the way, we're trading in my car for a Sienna.

I have to admit that I thought this post was going to be about giving our cars nicknames.  I call my car Rolly-Carolly. haha :-)

Me too!  Mine is Ladybug. :)

  • We really like our Fusion - bought the day before Em arrived. No issues with the carseat, big trunk.  I love the integrated voice commands for music and phone.

  • My mom has a 2007 Camary and loves it it has so much room and amazing trunk size , I got DD graco stroller  and luggage in her trunk and have had her car seat rear facing in the back seat and have room to move the passanger seat all the way back and I think I heard a 35 mpg number from her.

  • We have a 2000 Camry.  Tons of trunk space for my jogger and city mini plus all DHs survival gear and a few bags of groceries.  Two carseats in the back.  I will say that I can only put our Radian RFing in the middle, but it has a very tall shell.
  • I have a Sienna (with 3 in car seats) and a pretty constant stream of OOT guests 6 months of the year.) If I had 2 kids (or 2 in car sears and 1 over 8) my tops 3 were a CRV, Camry, & Mazda5. I use to have a 5 speed Corolla and driving my Sienna I find myself sometimes missing it. (5 speed, can park anywhere, and I use to get 37 mpg commuting vs. 19 around town in my Sienna.)

  • Add me to the (long) list of Corolla drivers!!  Wow...

     I also drive a '89 VW convertible...but it's up for sale :(

  • Love our Volvos. I have the XC-90 and DH has the S-80. My previous car was the S-60. Roomy, sporty good gas mileage. (unfortunately a tree landed on me while driving 60 mph on the highway and totaled the car...I walked away with. Only scratched from all the broken glass AND I was 33 weeks pregnant. Sold on The safety of Volvos for life now...the aid crew that came said that is what saved me since it landed in the center of the windshield/ top of the car)

  • I gotta say I love my Jetta!!!  I had an 07, but recently upgraded to the 2011.  They both have huge trunks, but the 2011 has a bit more room in the interior than the 07.  I really liked the Passat, but it is more than we were willing to spend right now.

I worry about Toyotas right now, especially since they just had another big batch of recalls.  DH drives a Scion TC and we really wish we could get into something else for his commuter car.

  • I drive a GMC Acadia and love it but its not a little car or all that fuelefficient. I also have a ford focus (2000) that I love. I have had it since it was new and it works just great! over 150000 miles and still going strong.

  • I have a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan, not super great on mileage, but it is very comfy to drive and is very roomy. DH drives a 2005 Subaru WRX STI which I think is super uncomfortable but gets really awesome gas mileage, even around town.
