Book recommendations please.

We are in need of some new books. We read all. day. long. And Mommy is tired of the same ones. Sydney, not so much. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated

Sydney loves those flip/flap books. We have the Elmo's World series. She loves them!

My kids love the Golden Books, not expensive, and I remember some of them when I was a kid. We have more books than I can count of all types, so here's they're favorites:

The Poky Little Puppy

The Monster at the End of This Book (my fav!)

Richard Scarry's Best Little Word Book Ever

They are also partial to Dr Suess, sometimes they only sit for a few pages, but that's fine. I'm pretty sure I know all of Green Eggs and Ham by heart.

If you haven't tried Sandra Boynton, check out hers. Ellie loves them all, but especially "Barnyard Dance", "Doggies", "Snuggle Puppy", and "Opposites". If your LO is into flap books, then Karen Katz has a lot of great ones - not sure if they are too young for your DD but Ellie will still read them sometimes. Two other faves of Ellie's that I also really like are "Little Blue Truck" (I forget the author) and "Big Red Barn" which is by Margaret something, the same woman who wrote "Goodnight Moon." Those last two are both really cute rhyming books.

Is it weird that almost since birth, we've been reading the Little House on the Prairie books to C at bedtime? Taking freakin' for-ev-er! to get through them all, but Daddy reads aloud while I put on his jammies, etc. A chapter a night and he'll be 16 before we're done! HA

* Monster at the End of this Book

* Peggy Rathman books -- Goodnight, Gorilla and 10 Minutes to Bedtime are good ones to start with

* Good Dog, Carl and that series -- there are some in board book form

* Mo Willems books

* Erhlich books are good for her age too

* Smash, Crash there goes the Trash

* Drive

* My Name is Not Isabella

* You and Me -- very simple book about opposites

* Dr. Seuss

* Hand, Hand, Finger, Thumb

Thank you so much for the reqs! This is an awesome list. Someone suggested My Name is not Isabella on here a while ago and that was already on my list to pick up. I will be getting some Karen Katz since her name came up more than once. And the Monster at the End of this Book sounds like a good one.

BUT... no more Sandra Boynton. Actually, I shouldn't say that. Sydney LOVES those books. I loathe them. Especially the Green Hat Red Hat one (or whatever it's called. I refuse to go pick it up to see). We joke that every time we read that one, it makes our IQ's go down. Just kidding. Sort of.

Margaux especially loves the "That's not my X (bear, dragon, puppy, whatever) books. She likes to lick (sigh, yes, lick) the different textures on the pages and find the little mouse on each page.

We got the "Your Personal Penguin" and it has a download on line with Davie Jones singing the song to the words. Very cute

Michael likes the Sesame Beginings books but they may be too young for Sidney. He really likes "Bubbles, Bubbles."

Also there are books by Iza Trapani -- he takes regular songs like Twinkle Twinkle or How much is that doggie in the window? and expands on them into a book. They are cute and you can sing them which tends to hold interest a little longer.

Another option is make your own! Both of my kids love their photo books from shutterfly and my SIL made each of them board books with pics from some place online.
