Not napping!

I'm not sure, but aren't they supposed to be in elementary school when they stop napping?

Mikey's spent most nap times this past week thinking he has more important things to do. And he's sick!

Blerg.

Re: Not napping!

  • That bites. I hope he realizes soon that naps are awesome. My next door neighbors daughter is three and she doesn't nap. At all. They claim she "never napped". She also doesnt go to bed until ten some nights. That's rough. I can't imagine.

  • I have one of those. E decided that naps sucked at about 18 months and never looked back.  I installed black out shades in her room thinking that might help. Nope. She also has a nasty habit of being awake until 10 or 11pm. This has been not so great since she shares a room with K and K is very much a sleeper. It also really sucks since she has a habit of waking up early too and she'll come stand next to my bed at 6am staring at me, and if I don't wake up right away she does the Stewie thing (mom mom mom) until I wake up.

I so hope for your sake it's just a phase!! Tongue Tied

  • Bleargh.  I'm sure it's temporary.  I hope it is, anyway!

That's scary. M goes to sleep late, not as late as E, but 9 on average. I really, really don't want to be on the clock from 7-9 every. single. day.

  • Oh Heather- that's rough. I'm sorry. Hopefully it's just a phase!
  • It's a little early to stop with naps - hope he resumes them soon.

Very scary...she's up right now, her official bedtime is at 8:30 and I guarantee she won't be asleep for quite some time. It's fairly consistant, and I dare not go to bed until she's asleep. She gets ideas and does things....Devil The other night, everyone was in bed, sleeping (even dh) and I was folding laundry, she snuck up behind me at about 11:30 and scared the life out of me. And all she wanted was to discuss Justin Beiber. ::dead::

So I'm sending sleeping dust to all the lo's out there so they nap, and moms get a break. We need it as much as they do. Or else your siggy will look like mine.

  • The last couple of days Fiona has boycotted her nap. she has phases like this that will last for a few days. Yesterday I was really counting on hercto nap though, I was tired, it was rainy and I wanted to veg for a couple of hours...but she had different plans. Let's hope our liitle ones nap today!!
  • Sounds like there is something in the air.... Rachel decided that she didn't want to take an afternoon nap yesterday. Needless to say...but I'm saying it any way, she was a little whiney last night and was quite clingy, only mama would do.

When I was a kid and my mom was still sleeping I would go into her room and stand next to the bed, lean over, pull up her eye lid and ask are you sleeping?  Apparently I thought that opening her eyes for her was a good idea. My poor mom.
