My OB, and further research, explained that I could possibly start feeling some "movement" around week 18. Since this is my first, I am completely clueless about knowing what I'm looking for. I've heard "fluttering" or "similar to gas." Is this true? How do you know it's movement? I haven't felt anything yet and I have heard that it can happen anywhere between now and 21 weeks, so I may not feel anything for a little bit. I've researched a ton, but was curious to get a real life perspective.
Re: Feeling Movement
With my first, I didn't feel movement until 22 weeks.
Movement feels like something is touching the inside of your abdomen with a feather, and sometimes it will feel like tiny jabs.
Thanks eesome!
I'm glad you said that you didn't feel it until 22 weeks. I won't let myself worry if I don't feel it soon.

Feeling baby is very similar to holding a goldfish in a bag...
Rolling or movement can be in random places....
Kicking or punching is in one defined area and usually doesn't move.
The first few times I felt my little guy move it did feel like a gas bubble, but now that I know what it is, it's a very distinct feeling. I'm also now feeling when he kicks or punches really hard. In the last couple of days I've been able to see my belly bounce a little when he does it.
Coolest feeling ever. I love that God gives us that little peace of mind. Since I can't see what's going on in there, as long as I feel him bouncing around I know things are okay.
I love this example.
