Has anyone ever used Wen? (PW!)

The shampoo? Or something like it? Google it cause I can't post the link. (right....?)

Re: Has anyone ever used Wen? (PW!)

  • Yes, I wanted it for xmas.  DH bought me the set off QVC.  I was so excited about using it, but I thought it just made my hair flat.  My sister and DH said my hair has looked better.  I have only used it for a month or so.  The crazy thing is the amount they tell you to use.  Use 12-16 pumps in 4 different area.  I haven't used that much so that is maybe my issue, but I am not satisfied.

  • Nope, but I did read a lot of reviews for it after my stylist scolded me yet again for being a daily hair shampoo'er.  From what I read it was really hit or miss.  It sounded like it worked pretty well for people who have hair that gets weighed down easily, fine hair, etc.  I have really thick hair and I need stuff to weigh it down.

Plus, it doesn't make bubbles, and that's just not right!  I like da bubbles!

Seriously though, it sounds like it just doesn't have the stuff that strips your natural hair oils (that'd be the awesome stripping bubbles) so I kind of wonder if you'd get the same effect by just rinsing your hair most of the time instead of shampoo'ing and then using a light conditioner?

Maybe check ebay to see if you can buy a small sample of it to try first?

  • Yes! My mom and sister swear by it. My mom dyes her hair and she gets so much more mileage from her coloring. It's not a shampoo technically, but I can't remember what they call it. Anyway, it's helped with my sister's Hermione hair and my mom's colored, straw hair.

I'd try the sample pack on QCV if you can...they had one during the holidays, but I'm not sure how often he's on. HTH!

  • ::Butting in:: I've been wondering about Wen too. I keep seeing the infomercial but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I think I may have to try it.

Your stylist seriously scolded you?  That's nuts, I've tried everything under the sun to help my hair last more than a day unwashed no such luck.  Dry shampoo is a joke, might as well just use baby powder but even then it's hard.  So that means I'd have to wear a hat every other day.  LOL I have super greasy hair.

I'm a bubbly kind of gal too, I did look at the site.

Yeah, in that mothering "You know that's not good for you!" way.  I can't not wash my hair every day though, my roots get greasy and I feel bleh.  I should probably just shampoo every other day and rinse in between.  I keep hearing that after awhile of skipping shampoos that evens out and you don't feel as greasy, but I can't stick with it long enough to find out.

  • I haven't tried Wen, but in my effort to be more "green" and get rid of some of the chemicals in our products I tried a natural shampoo that didn't lather up and it NEVER made my hair feel clean .. I felt so gross and it looked greasy .. not sure if Wen would do the same but thought I would add that :)

You met my idol?! Suck it.

Also, I'm a daily shampooer, too! I can't stand having dirty, greasy hair, so I could see me hating the grease part. I don't dye my hair though...is it mostly just for that??

  • Don't do it.  I got sucked in one early morning and ordered 2 bottles.  It just made my hair greasy.  I ended up using it just as a conditioner along with my shampoo.

Damn you Chaz!  I believed in you!!!  :*(

If anyone wants to know about it, I went all "curly girl" several years ago (remember that book?) and stopped shampooing my hair.  I now shampoo about once a week/sometimes twice or if I know something got in it (i.e, kids).  Your hair does totally even out and mine (its a weird sorta wavy dry fine mix) is SO much healthier for it.  I was totally skeeved out by it- and now if I shampoo too often, I just get dry itchy scalp.

Try dry shampoo I love it! The shhhhh (or something like that) is amazing and like $4 a can. If I don't wash my hair everyday it is a greasy mess few sprays of dry shampoo and I feel way better and hair looks like I just washed it

  • I HATE THAT STUFF!

It's not a shampoo, it's a cleansing conditioner, and you are suppose to use like 40 pumps in one showering.  It's the same premise of people who just use conditioner, instead of shampoo.

it's SO greasy.  At least to me it is - I have oily hair and skin anyway.  And I tried three different formulas.  It felt fine when I got ready in the morning but by lunch I was an oily mess.

I have long fine hair, that frizzes.
