Jack is 3 weeks old today and I still notice the area because it's tender, but it's much better than it was a week ago. I noticed an improvement after about 2 weeks.
I have both c-section and perineum stitches. My c-section still hurts and will probably hurt for a long time and I don't know that my perineum stitches ever really hurt, probably more so just sore but that only last a week. Every now and then I will move a certain way and it hurts but not normally.
Mine felt amazingly better after a week, but that was after my LC gave me a tip: 3 Motrin every 4 hours round the clock for three days. After the three days I felt significantly better and lowered the dosage to 2 every 6 hours. After a week PP I felt fine unless I stretched in a bad way (I had a 2nd degree tear). If I wipe too vigorously then its tender but otherwise I don't notice it!
I was very sore for about 12-14 days then it got better and I wasn't walking funny any more but I still have to sleep with a pillow between my legs, I can't wipe like I used to, and I am definitely still sore all day no matter what. My LO will be 1 month on the 10th. Let me just say I am kinda glad DH isn't here to be questioning me on when we get to have sex again because I am not even sure I will be comfortable at 6 weeks.

About the same story for me too. I had an episiotomy (TINY, only 1st degree) I only needed motrin in the hospital and by 4 days PP I was not taking it anymore and my tenderness was all gone by day 7 and I have felt completely normal since.
I had a 2nd degree tear that went right up to my left labia and i am still in pain down there. The sutures have since been gone for weeks but I still am swollen and in pain. It's completely bearable though, and only is bad near the end of the day after being on my feet. I only took motrin in the hospital, and I only take it once in a while now.
They hurt pretty bad for the first 5-6 days. For the next several days they were just uncomfortable and only really hurt when I was sitting or in the car for a long time. By 2 weeks I had no pain. I had a minor 2nd degree tear.
Re: How long did your stitches hurt?
Which stitches?
