Hi ladies! I am new here and I am hoping to get some insight as I feel a little in the dark. I had an ultrasound done this week to help find out why I have not gotten pregnant after 15 cycles. The Dr. said I have a uterine anomaly. I am having an MRI done later this week to rule out a need for corrective surgery. Does an arcuate uterus effect your chances of becoming pregnant? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this? Thank you! ![]()

I have an arcuate uterus. My RE said it wouldn't affect my chances of getting pregnant or carrying the baby.
ETA: I don't think they ever do surgery for an arcuate uterus so your MRI is probably to rule out a septum. I had an HSG and saline sono to dx my issue as an arcuate uterus and not a septum.
Dx: MFI- 3% morph
IUIs: Gonal-F + Ovidrel + b2b IUI= BFNs
IVF with ICSI= BFP! EDD 11/25/11

Ditto. Mine was so small, my RE didn't think it was an issue.
I have a bicornuate uterus, which basically means it is shaped like a heart instead of a pear. If you have a septum, it can be removed and it shouldn't affect your chances of getting pregnant or carrying to term.
While there is no surgery to really correct a bicornuate uterus, my doc says that it shouldn't affect my chances of getting pregnant, however, it can make it harder to carry to term. I had an HSG to confirm the diagnosis, followed up by an MRI. Good luck...I'm sure everything will be fine.
