Did you go through a severe mama's boy stage, and if so, how did you get through it?

Max won't even let his daddy hold him if I am around. Whenever I go to the gym, he screams his head off for about 15 minutes. As soon as I get home, he won't let me out of his sight. He's clingy and needy, and it is so frustrating. He won't let his dad bathe him, change him, or take him out without pitching huge fits. I am at my wits end. What do I do to try and curb this? Or do I just wait it out? It is getting way out of hand.

yup, we went thru it. I'm pretty sure that's when we started "dates" with him, so daddy would get some one on one time, and I could get a break. It worked pretty well!

A family that came in to the donut shop where I worked did "dates" with her son because he was such a daddy's boy!

It was always something he looked forward to, and it helped! Even if it was just for grocery shopping.

I have no advice, but I can commiserate from the other side. Right about now I would pay cash money for Nathan to want me to hug him, to want me to read the story, to want me to drive the car. If J is around, I do not exist.

I had this, he was attached to me 24/7 for at least a month. I just waited it out. It is a development milestone. As soon as this phase is over he will run from you and explore everything because he feels secure and has already tested that you are there for him.

Now it is my turn to be jealous. Smile I have no advice, but Lulu is the opposite. She is happy as a clam with anyone! Sometimes I just want her to want me and only me.

I like pp's suggestion about "Daddy dates" at the donut shop, or something equally exciting and fun.

Don't be! It is out of control. Stick out tongue

It's also kinda sad for DH. All he wants is to love and cuddle Max, and Max wants nothing to do with him. He cries during bath and bedtime routines if it's DH's night to perform those tasks. DH will ask for a hug or a kiss, and Max will hug me and hold onto me, but won't give DH love. It kinda breaks my heart for him.

I also like the idea of "Daddy dates." I think we will give this a try.

Don't be! It is out of control.

We have a grea book called Spot loves his Daddy, It talks about all the fun things Spot does with his Daddy. DS loves it.
