Ok so we use pampers diapers. We have no problem with them during the day, but overnight ds gets soaking wet with pee. He isnt peeing out of them, but through them, probably because they are that weird papery material and not plasticy- if that makes any sense.
Ive tried putting the bigger size on him, but they dont fit right and he would just pee out of them. I feel like he shouldnt be going to the bathroom that much at night and want to avoid having to wake him up to change him, which we havent had to do since he was a newborn.
Has anyone had this problem? What would you suggest?

So, you're not using overnights yet? We switched to overnight diapers around 11 months I think. DS was always wet when he woke up. He has been using overnights for a long time and it's worked pretty well, but recently he's been wetting through them too. I might need to go up a size in overnights too. I think I was usually 1 size bigger in overnight diapers than I was in daytime. Right now he's wearing size 5 Target diapers during hte day and I'm going to switch him to size 6 Pampers overnight. I think boys have more of a problem of leaking out of their diaper, especially if they are tummy sleepers. I'd buy a pack of overnights, it's worth giving it a try.
Also, I would make then as tight as possible in the front. Also, I would make sure the straps are closed closest to the top of the diaper and almost at an angle toward each other. Sorry, it's so hard to describe
Our DS was peeing through the top of the diaper and getting wet that way. That's why we had to start doing that.
No I guess I will try the overnight diapers...duh. LOL
I havent been in the store to buy diapers in months. We've just been going through our stash. I'll have to get some overnight ones.

I hope the overnights work for you! It's worth a shot. Also, you could limit the amount of liquids before bed. That hasn't worked with us since DS takes his sippy cup w/ water to bed with him. Refuses to let go. It's a new thing in the last couple months.
FYI Pampers Baby Dry are designed to be overnight diapers. They are supposed to be for 12 hours. We use them and have no issue... but our DD is much younger so maybe doesn't have as large of a urine output volume? Haha... I don't know but it sounds good in my head.
