pink and blue party

I am way ahead of myself here but I want to have a pink and blue party, my hubby is not super excited. I love any excuse to have people over, so if you have had one or are having one who did you invite?

We had one! I loved it. S/O didn't want to find out the sex, and I did, so this was a way to make it an even bigger surprise. We gave my sister and BFF the envelope that contained the sex and they made us the cake and threw the party. We invited all of our closest friends and had a BBQ. It was so fun to find out with a room full of my favorite people who were just as excited as we were about it. I had the WORST heartburn of my entire pregnancy on that day (throwing up and all), and was still a blast!

If you're way ahead of yourself than I am way WAY ahead of myself. I have wanted to have a pink or blue party for #2, and have been thinking about, it for the past 2 years! =P When the time comes, we will probably just have it here and invite family and friends and maybe do a bbq or have buffet style lunch/dinner.

I didn't even know there was a name for this! I wanted to do this with LO by having DD announce it (by opening an envelope) at Thanksgiving, but then we moved away and couldn't do it =( Have fun!!

We had one, and it was a great time - we got to relax and eat and see all the grandparents. I also love any excuse to get together.

We invited all of our close friends and went out to dinner. at the end I handed out cupcakes that were pink on the inside. My parents were with us at the ultrasound so they found out when we did. I think for #2 I want to be team green.

We had one and it was awesome! It really made #2 that much more special. We had our ultrasound tech write down her guess and put it in an envelope. We took the envelope to a baker (pre-arranged) and she made the cupcakes. We all bit in to it at the same time and found a pink center!! It was really fun. We invited pretty much everyone we had at DD#1's 1st birthday party and a few of her friends. We rented a hall, had lunch and then did the cupcakes. It was really fun!

Don't fee bad - I've already been thinking about doing one for #2 and I'm not even pregnant yet. I think we're just going to do family and close friends and do a dessert party.

I wanted to do one, but my family is all out of state And DH's family wouldn't be interested. It would have been a very small handful of my friends, at best, so it seemed silly. My family, and a few girl friends, were probably the most interested to know, anyway. I told my friends right away, by text or email. We revealed the gender to my family at Xmas with a little blue bear. And we told DH's friends by cutting a blue cake at a New Year's Party (it took them a LONG time to understand... "How does the cake know? Did you make this cake? Do you know already? Where will the pink or blue be inside?").

We won't do one for #2, either, for the same reasons. Bummer. Have fun planning yours!!
