fake coughing?

yesterday dd started coughing on and off - but it seems like a fake cough. dh has had a cough for about 2 months and we are wondering if she is imitating him or doing it to get attention. she was also grunting a bit earlier today but i think it was a poop or her trying to reach a toy. she doesnt seem sick or to be having any congestion/breathing dofficulty but has been sleeping on me for 4 hours. we are also flying to fl tomorrow morning. is this likely nothing or could it be the first stage of her getting sick?

    could be anything :)  DS went through a phase like that a little bit ago...so did Cassian's Maya :)  Sometimes it was for attention (I'm convinced) and the others it was his reflux acting up a little bit.  Either way, no biggie :)  enjoy your trip!!

    Heh yep! Maya still does this. She thinks its hilarious. My friend's DD is 3 weeks younger than Maya and she does it too :)

    She most likely is finding her voice and is nothing. D did that for about a month or so on and off.

    Henry used to do this ...my pedi calls it a social cough. They do it because they find it gets your attention.

    My dd does this too.  It's her 'social cough', ie, "look at me, I'm funny".

    Yup, Elizabeth did the same thing at that age. And since we usually coughed back or laughed at her, she got the reaction she wanted! 

    After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!

    Caroline did this, at right around your LO's age.  Pedi said it was very typical, and ALL for attention ;)

    FWIW, she still does it if I'm not paying enough attention to her, she knows that coughing will always get me to look at her, lol.
