Re: work-at-home moms come in

  • I work from home about once a week (health communications with CDC) and I have a few friends that have at home businesses.  Some work for companies doing technical assistance at home, others work at home doing Mary Kay or Scentsy.  I would love to have the chance to work at home full-time.  Best of luck!

  • Systems access for an aerospace company. I worked in the office for 3 years before working 100% virtual. DD still goes to daycare full time.

  • Work at home positions are very few and far between - and even fewer with a decent income.  Good luck.

  • When I worked from home it was for a company I'd already worked for, for 6+ years.  I just transitioned from an office based to a home based position.

  • I'm a rep for Stella & Dot and work very part-time.  You can out my page- www.stelladot.com/stephania  Best wishes!
  • I manage an in home picture framing business and live behind the store.  I essentially work in exchange for our rent but it's really flexible.  I stumbled upon the position four months after LO was born.  I love it but there are days when I miss being able to leave my house and go to an office.
  • I own three businesses: a event/wedding decor company, a dog daycare & hotel, and an evaluation consulting firm.

Starting a business (if you have a good one) is the best way to give yourself a good income and flexibility (assuming you put hard work into it).

  • I'm a sales director for a recruiting agency. As long as i have my phone with me and can respond to emails in a timely fashion it doesn't matter where I am. LO stays home with me which is awesome, when I have outside appts she goes to a family members house or I get a sitter.

  • Thanks for your advice.  I'm actually thinking about starting a business as a private tutor (I have a phd in science and I know I could teach high school math and science).  If you have any tips on starting a business I'd love to hear them.  Thanks!
