I won't be getting the mother of the year award

It all started last night when DS was running around naked after his bath, it's his favorite. Usually we stay up stairs but we were in the living room and he was by our gas fireplace, I went to grab him to put his diaper on and the side of his thigh brushed the glass of the fireplace. He fussed for a short bit but it was short lived, it was a little pink but not bad. This morning I was changing his diaper and noticed a big burn mark. I felt awful to say the least.

Then this morning I was making breakfast and decided to make DS and I a smoothie. I put some in a sippy cup (from Ikea) and DS managed to spill it all over the rocker/recliner. They're not the greatest sippy cups. Got that mess cleaned up while trying not to ruin the scrambled eggs.

But now while DS is napping I am making homemade english muffins to maybe redeam myself as mother of the year! :)

    Oooh that sucks.

    If it make you feel better my LO was constipated so I pumped him full of plum juice, well I guess I got too excited because his body exploded all over himself last night and this morning and now he has diaper rash.....

    Indifferent I won't be getting it either. this weekend DS faceplanted into the edge of a marble planter-type-thing. He's got a big bruise on his cheek from it. I'm expecting a call from social services any time now... Embarrassed

     

    I hope your day gets better! and home made english muffins sounds way better than anything I could do to try to win back my prestige! haha.

    We don't even turn our fireplace on because I am so worried about this!  At least he didn't burn himself badly!

    Knowing that "misery loves company" here's my winning mom moment of the day - I dropped weeble on DS's head...he was devastated and I felt awful!!

    Oh I know how burns dont look bad at first.  During DS's first birthday party he reached out and grabbed at his candle and burnt his finger.  It looked fine until the next day when it blistered.  I felt horrible on my own but my MIL gave me a nice long lecture about how we shouldnt have actually lite the candle...but we'd been practicing him blowing out and he'd done well.

    I dont think we will be doing cakes with candles again for a few more years.

    Cjseeger, I'm sorry about what happened to your little man, neosporin w/ pain relief should help with it.
