I always heard that movement would decrease the further along I got in this pregnancy but this kid has been way more active this last week. Specifically today she has not taken a break for 2-3 hours and I'm starting to feel sore. Her punches/jabs are getting stronger and I swear she's coming out my stomach. She's been pretty chill throughout most of this pregnancy so I'm wondering what's causing her to be so active lately... maybe she just really wants to come out and play? I hope she comes sooner rather than later, but I'm OK with her cooking a little bit longer. I just wish she'd calm down a bit... It's making it hard to concentrate or sleep!
Re: MORE movement??
I know! I jinxed myself by telling everyone that she wasn't much of a mover earlier on and I was hoping she'd be a chill outside baby too. But now, not so much. Even her heartrate was on the lower end of normal for most of this pregnancy - 130s and 140s - but the last few doctor's appointments she's been solidly in the 150s. Maybe it's a last minute growth spurt?? It's amazing the kind of wind-up she can get in there!
I thought my days of being kicked in the ribs were over when I gave birth. Nope, but they are pretty much limited to diaper changes and the occasional tantrum.
GL! I hope everything goes smoothly until your LO is ready to meet the world!
Hee! Ditto.
The only thing I can think (aside from her being annoyed by her confined space) is did you have something sugary or with caffeine that could be making her move around? My coworker said her baby kicks a lot after she eats citrus fruit (randomly).

another one with very active inside babies which became very active outside babies, they and their limbs never stop moving! The kicks are now aimed at my c-s scar, ouch!
This! J inevitably kicks my c-s incision at least once a day and it is painful!
Neither of my kids slowed down. I don't remember if they got more active or not. DD was 8 days late when I was induced, so I don't think movement is indicative of when they'll arrive.
She'll be here soon either way! Good luck!
ETA: DS was a very active kid but DD is pretty laid back. Both hit gross motor skill milestones rather early though.
