May 2011 Moms

Finally, more good news!

The MFM came in today to discuss everything with me this morning and it looks like the Bell's Palsy could be gone in as little as 2 weeks with the treatments they're giving me! Yay! That means, if I can hold out for 2 more weeks, I might be able to smile pretty for pictures when the boys make their appearance! You know, instead of looking like a female version of Frankenstein or something. And since one of the meds they have me on is Prednisone (a steroid), they said it might even help the boys develop even that much more, increasing the chance we might not be in the NICU for a long period of time!

Also, I get a new set of orders tomorrow since I'm hitting that 32 weeks milestone. According to the MFM here, we still want to keep the boys inside, but we're really just trying to decrease NICU time so they can COME HOME with us! We're almost out of the woods as far as morbidity from prematurity goes! And that, to me, is good news! So now, if my BP spikes, I have to go immediately to L&D for monitoring to determine if we're going to deliver or not. So let's keep our FX that I don't spike anything and can stick around here in antepartum. Going back and forth sounds like such a chore and if I go, I sort of want something to happen, lol!

Anyway, growth u/s is tomorrow to see how big the squirmies are. I'll keep you all posted on our progress here. Hopefully you won't see a delivery post for another 4 weeks (I'm still gunning for 36 weeks, even though we'll be having that risk/benefit discussion of delivering at 34 weeks). Can't believe I've made it this far though, nor can I believe I've already been in the hospital for 5 WEEKS already! Geez!
