Baltic Amber for teething?

Has anyone heard of a baltic amber necklace? Its supposed to help babies with teething apparently. They don't chew on it, just wear it and it releases an acid that has a natural pain reliever in it. I'm wondering if this really works? Mason hasn't started teething yet, just thinking ahead.

ETA: Just googled it for my own benefit. Why did I always have the image of a baby gnawing on a rock on a chain?

Audrey has worn hers non stop since she was about 2 months old. I am often asked if it really works and honestly I don't really know because I don't have anything to compare it too. I have only had to give her tylenol twice for teething and fussiness so in my book it is either working or I can an easy teether Smile I keep meaning to order one for myself because they are supposed to be great for anyone for aches and pains, migraines, etc.

Inspired by Fin is a popular place to order them. I bought mine locally but if I hadn't that is where I would have gotten it.

We've been using them for about 3-4 months now and it does make a huge difference, especially with drooling and fussiness.

I have never heard of these necklaces. They sound pretty interesting! I immediately had the rock gnawing image too.

Both of my kids wore/wear them. I am in the same "I'm not sure if they work" camp. I have never given meds for teething....???

I am actually wearing parker's right now..LOL. He took it off and I didn't want to lose it so I put it around my neck... to bad I don't have any aches to see if it actually works

georgia has worn one since she was around 3 months old. she is just now cutting teeth, but has an ear infection too, so I am part of the not sure camp too.

I will say though, that she had AWFUL eczema before the necklace and it totally cleared up. While she was in the hospital a few weeks ago, we had the necklace off for a couple days and she started getting patches on her legs. I know that a lot of different things could have contributed but I do think it helps with the inflammation of her eczema. We ordered our from inspired by finn when they were on baby steals or baby bargains.

Technically they do tell you to take them off when they sleep but I never have. I worried at first but after watching her sleep with it on I feel comfortable and don't see how it could strangle her. But I guess it is one of those things where everyone is cautious about different things YWIM.
