So they're going to run the RPL panel and check for antifosfolipid. She mentioned trying IVF again and we said we'd like to wait until the summer time and she was fine with that. Then she asked about my cycles and I said they were longer so she suggested we try femara to induce an earlier ovulation and hopefully prevent the effect of late ovulation leading to another miscarriage. And if the femara is too expensive she said I could do the clomid again but the clomid made me crazy so we'll see. She also said anytime I know I ovulated and had relations at the appropriate time we should test 14 days later and if I got to the office before 10, they'd run a beta for me (Sweet! Good to know!) and she gave me a script for betas and progesterone check whenever I feel the need if I can't get to the office. So our plan is trying on our own with femara and no monitoring followed by IVF in July. I'm cool with it. She also said if I was over 35 and said I wanted to wait 5 months she would say no but since I'm only 31, 5 months won't make much of a difference.
Now I have to price out femara- anyone know a good place to get it? Or how much it costs?

That sounds like a good plan. I am really glad you can wait until summer to do IVF again - it will be easier I am sure.
Sorry I don't know anything abou the cost of femara. But, check out the link below. I think you can get some pills for free. A girl I know got 10 pills. She printed the form and had her RE fill it out and then took it to a pharmacy (I guess you can go to any one) and they filled it for free. Not sure why her RE didn't fill it out for 30 (I guess that is like 3 months worth), but maybe yours would.

Femara is pretty cheap.
I have insurance coverage, so it was a $10 co pay, but even out of pocket, I'd be surprised if it cost more than $100. Also, each time I did it, I took 2-2.5mg pills a day for 5 days, so you'll need 10 pills a month/cycle.
Side note: it's a breast cancer drug, so if you have any drug coverage with your insurance...it is probably covered since it isn't a "true" IF med. Good luck!!

Femara is a pill. It's actually a breast cancer drug- it causes decreased estrogen but then because it's decreased for 5 days, your brain then thinks it has to make more and then your body makes "extra". It doesn't stay in your system as long so it doesn't have as nasty of side effects either. Plus my insurance covered it.

I don't think I've tried it. I should ask my RE. Thanks! And sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I hope the Femara works for you!
