Serious question re:Adamwife

I am NOT flaming or trying to stir up shit, just honestly wondering.

I know she said she was doing a media blockout until after the election.  So is she going to wake up on the 5th and turn on CNN and just see who won?  Does anybody on here talk to her IRL?  I just can't see that turning out well, I think it would give her a heart attack or something if she just turned on the TV and saw news that would upset her...

  • If Obama wins, I'm thinking we won't see her again....not for a while anyway.

Supposedly something on the election board.  I missed it.

  • This will sound totally lame and feel free to flame me, ::shrugs::, but I can't get myself that worked up over the candidates!  If the one I don't want to win does win than I'm going to do my best to support him b/c he is our President.

  • I would think she would at least watch the election coverage Tuesday night.?
  • No - you know - I just think it's a matter of knowing it gets you worked up, and making a choice to just stop engaging in it until it's a done deal, and then deal with it.

I've seen differences of opinion over this election tear up multiple family relationships and friendships.  Hell - my grandmother had a HUGE fight with her oldest friend over it, and they've been friends for more than 50 years.

So I understand shutting it out.

I think she'll be back even if Obama wins - at that point in time it's just a matter of moving on and dealing with whatever comes next.

    i agree 100%
  • She left 2nd tri early to avoid "drama", went to 3rd tri.  one day she posted a ton of really innapropriate shit on the Election board, those girls flamed the hell out of her, and then all of a sudden she posted that she "was needing to take a sabbatical from all news organizations, the internet, tv, etc" until after the election.  I haven't seen her on here at all since.

That pretty much sums it up.

Election board is here. I had the same question this morning on 3rd tri. Do you think she'll still be MIA if Obama wins? For real though, what will she and her husband do??

  • That is how I see it too.

  • Does anyone know what exactly she's so worried about if Obama wins?
  • Nope.  But I hope she comes back.

  • I don't know that it's necessarily worried.  Many in the conservative side believe Obama will further downgrade our economy, turn our nation into a pansy state where we turn tail and run from the wars we've created around the world, and in general increase the size and spending of government while taxing the hell out of the common man.

  • OH, and if you're a really hardline conservative - Obama will let lots more babies be killed.

**Just saying that's what a conservative fears, not my opinion.

  • Seriously, I'm so sick of the election.  It seems like this has been going on forever!

I don't blame her for wanting to take a break.  I'm certainly watching / listening to less news for the last few weeks.

  • Conversely - liberal fears if McCain wins -

1.) continued degradation of our economy

2.) continued death and spendingon wars that appear unwinnable

3.) continued degradation of international sentiment about the US

4.) Roe V. Wade overturned - elimination of a woman's right to choose

5.) at least four more years of Bushonomics.

Yeah, that's about it. Very well put.

For me, it's concerns somewhere along these lines.  BUT

As a business owner, I am afraid that I will have to reduce the size of our workforce because of the increased tax burden that Obama will bring.  How can fewer people working be "good for the economy?"

I've actually heard quite a few small business owners saying that very thing.

I feel the same way as my husband and I are small business owners.  We are "Joe the Plumber" as Obama puts it in our small town, we deal with heat and air instead, but it is the same principal.  Who knows if small businesses will be able to survive with his tactis?

  • LOL at "pansy state."
