I just wanted to share with you ladies so we can send Erica some positive vibes. She has been having some contractions starting last night so the doctor has measured her cervix this morning, it's measuring 1.5cm so she is back at L&D for a fFN test. Let's hope this test is negative. Any T&P's are appreciated. I will keep you updated. Thank you.

Update: The test was negative and her cervix is high and closed. However, she's having real contractions every 4 minutes so she is on IV for fluids and they are going to monitor her for a while before she can go home.

Update #2 She was just released and going home, she will be on bed rest until her next appt (next week) when she will have her cervix checked. Thank you ladies for your T&Ps

She said bed rest is a given at this point, she is just hoping she is not in pre term labor.

Hi gals, and thank you Kathy for keeping folks posted! As Kathy said, I'm back home from L&D, and contractions have subsided a good bit, though I still have them. Doctors are saying that, since the fFN test came back negative, and my cervix, while shortened, is closed, it's likely I just have an irritable uterus (prone to random untimely contractions).

I went in this morning for my 28 week growth ultrasound at my MFM doctor's office, and mentioned that I have been feeling menstrual-like cramps down low since yesterday evening (and in retrospect I think it all started earlier during the day yesterday). So as Kathy said, I'm now on modified bed rest (no work, and I'm supposed to "act like a slug" - doc's exact words) until I see him again next week, where he'll check my cervical length again and see where to go from there.

I'm hoping my cervix behaves and I can go back to work next week... so much still to do to get ready for my maternity leave... ah well... whatever I need to do to keep this baby cooking!

By the way: baby looked great on the growth ultrasound. He or she is measuring 3 lbs, 6 ounces (still 70th percentile), is currently head down and everything is as it should be. BUT, baby was even more uncooperative this time and had his or her head turned inward such that the tech couldn't get a single peek at the face... so no pics this week. Well no, not true... we got pics of the big feet, LOL!
