First sleep over anxiety

Not her, or him, but me. My mom offered to take E for the night while we go to a hockey game, and everyone seems perfectly fine about it (well, there's no asking E really), but I'm feeling anxious. Normal first-timer feelings?

The last time she was away from me was when I was in the hospital for a week, and she was just two months old, so I'm feeling a little emotional about the whole thing....any words of advice?

Re: First sleep over anxiety

  • Totally normal to feel what you are feeling. Frankly I still have anxiety when A stays the night elsewhere. I do think it's important, and I promise you will get through it :). Good. luck and have a great date night!

  • I would totally feel the same way.  Have a great time with your Hubby.
  • Totally normal, for an overnight.

Make sure your Mom has up to date medical info/numbers and a cell phone number you will have with you. (lesson learned the hard way for us)

  • Once you try it, you'll get hooked.  ;)  Try to enjoy yourself and have an agreement that your mom will text you or email you regularly to let you know she's FINE.  Pictures are always fun too (my mom will update FB with pics of M sometimes when she has him overnight).
