Weaning question

I'm considering partially weaning DD so that the only times she nurses are first thing in the morning and her last meal of the evening before bath/bed.  Do I just stop pumping at work and let it work itself out?  Or would do you have a less painful method?  Haha...

I forgot my pump parts at home this morning and I didn't have a break at lunch so I'm having to go all day without pumping and I'm kinda dying here!  Ouch!

Thanks!

Re: Weaning question

  • I would decrease the pumping sessions at work, one by one every few days.  Then you can decrease the amount of time you pump too.  Depending on how many times you pump at work you could be done with pumping in 10d-2weeks.  GL!

  • I used to pump 2-3 times a day at work, then I just would get tired of it (or get too busy), so eventually, went down to 1 time, then none (probably within a month's time).  It was a good transition, and helped my body regulate.  I will say that once I was only feeding in the morning and afternoon, my supply really tanked.  I was expecting that though, and completely weaned about a month after.
