38 week appt update.

I had them do the first internal because I couldn't handle not knowing anything! It didn't hurt at all, not one bit, maybe it's that I just have a really gentle OB... Anyhow, I'm a 1-2 cm and 50% effaced. I also lost 1/2 lb which she said is normal. She did say that he's still head down but his head is still high. She expects me to make it to my appt next week but she doesn't think I'll actually go over due. She said "you'll make it VERY close to your due date, if not right on"... She's actually on call the weekend that I'm due so now I'm hoping he'll wait until she's on call, she was fabulous during Bella's delivery. That said, I'm still super uncomfortable but eventually he'll be out of here

Needless to say, I made my next two appts, I can't believe I've actually made it a full 3 weeks than what I did last time!

YAY! That's great news! Although I know you want him out, but at least everything is on track and the internal wasn't that bad.

You are so close! yay!! and just fwiw...my dr said similar things. I was not progressing at all & she actually scheduled my induction for a week and half later "just in case". Well that was Thursday & I had my girl by Monday afternoon. You never know when Grayson is going to decide to make his debut!

sounds like everything is going great! (aside from your usual end-of-pregnancy woes!) soon enough he'll be here though and it'll all be worth it oh and did YH ever agree to the diaper bag as a push present? i think you deserve it!

oh and as for the internal being not as bad as you thought... i found that to be the case too. it did not hurt at all, though after having 5 different ob's do it i have to say that 1 was particularly good and i hardly felt anything at all while the with the others i felt a little pressure (but it didn't hurt). and really after having had to deal w/the dildo cam several times, the internal exam was a breeze for me!
