I'm 18 weeks and lately have had the worst indigestion! It doesn't matter what I eat I always have indigestion.Anyone else having this problem? TUMS has now become my new best friend!
I'm not personally having this issue but for some reason I recall reading somewhere that Zantac or Pepcid are better options for us preggos. I could be wrong though.

This exactly! Someone asked me if I was having any cravings and I said smoothie Tums because EVERYTHING gives me heart burn! lol
I used to be a Tums fan but then I learned that it can cause kidney stones if taken too often, and that it's horrible for your teeth because of all the sugar. Then I switched to pepcid once or twice a day but then I developed horrible chest pains because apparently the Tums doesnt treat the heartburn it only masks it for the time being so the constant heartburn caused damage so now I'm on some eavy meds
Bottom Line : Maybe its time for you to break up your friendship
On the bottle of TUMS it says how many you can have per day (I think 10). TUMS are a wonderful source of calcium too if you aren't getting it from dairy.
I have generic TUMS and maybe take 2-4 every other day. If I have to take more than 4 I take a pepcid which is on the approved list from my doctor.
Also, I was having issues from week 17 through 22 and then had a couple of weeks with little to no heartburn and now it is back. Maybe you'll find some relief soon?

I was also the same way. Had it from 10-15 weeks and then it stopped and now it is in full gear again!

Ooohh be careful! I was having terrible heartburn, so my husband gave me some Tums before I went to bed. I woke up a few hours with the worst Charley Horse of my life! I was literally screaming in pain! Turns out, too much of one type of calcium causes leg muscle cramps! Just don't take too many, I'd hate for you to feel that pain! Also, I stopped taking Tums that night and my ob/gyn told me to take Prilosec OTC, and it has been a miracle drug! My heartburn which was a 9 out of a 10 on a pain level, was gone the next day! Good luck!

I've been taking two after pretty much every meal/snack since November.
My body is going to be pure calcium by the time this is over.
