I am angry!!

So, we decided to splurge on a 3D ultrasound. It really isn't in the budget these days with all the doctors bills and such, but I thought my honey deserved to see the baby! Anyways, the appointment is supposed to be at 3pm today. I just got a call from the ultrasound place apologizing and saying they had to cancel all appointments today due to an "emergency"!! I am so annoyed. It isn't a medical facility, so it's not like they are taking care of a sick baby or mommy, so I am not sure what qualifies as an emergency. They didn't even say they would offer any sort of discount or upgrade to make up for this very short notice. Grrrrr, I was sooooo looking forward to seeing our little girl today!!

    I'm so sorry -- that is definitely disappointing!  But they could very well have a legitimate emergency (maybe the u/s tech is in the hospital, for example), try to relax a bit. They'll reschedule you.

    Maybe there was a family emergency?  Or maybe a building emergency, like a gas leak or something?

     Exactly.  Things happen. I mean, it's not like they'd just decide to close for the day and lose all that income for the day.

    Unless they called and said "lol, we felt like blowing off the afternoon", you don't really need to get compensated or have anything made up for. Likely they're a private business which means they don't have to explain or justify their emergencies to anyone. it could be a "my car broke down, my kid is sick and I have to get them from school, our ultrasound tech has some super bad sniffles and we don't want to pass them to knocked up women!" and that's all the emergency they need.

     You'd have cause to be pissed enough to demand something had they just put up a hand written note and not called you

    I could understand being disappointed!!

    But really, unless they DIDN'T call to notify you ahead of time- there's really no reason to be compensated for having the appointment rescheduled.

    Maybe they are rescheduling some of the "just for fun" ultrasounds due to patients with emergencies?

    I had to go in for an emergency u/s a few weeks ago and it threw the rest of the day's schedule off for them.

    I agree that it was probably a legitimate emergency and they will reschedule you, but I do understand how frustrating that must be. I remember how slowly the seconds crawled by when we were waiting for the ultrasound to determine the gender. And when you're as far along as we are and feeling achy and just want something good to look forward to (lol, besides the birth of your amazing child, which seems like forever from now!) it's frustrating to have to wait that much longer. I say you're allowed to be angry. Because you're pregnant. We all get it. :)

     Don't worry, you'll see her in real life soon enough, and she'll be gorgeous!!
