I had some unfortunate circumstances arise this week, and I now have to bring my 2 year old son to my 38 week check up. Will the Dr. still check to see if I am dilated or will they refuse to do so because my kid will be there? I've only had to take him to a few simple appointments in the past, so I'm not sure what to expect.
Re: Bringing my toddler to a check up?
i was just about to say a nurse would probably wait with him in the hall if its a big deal. whether they want to check u or not is up to ur doc.
I take my toddler to every appointment; it isn't worth getting a baby sitter for me.
I just bring a bag of toys and snacks for him and he is fine. THey don't take him out of the room. He is young enough that he doesn't know anything. Sometimes he has been up on the bed with me, and other times during the internal part, I just happen to have M&M's in my hand and he stays right at my head and I hand him one at a time while he gobbles them up.
Usually, he just plays on the floor and is fine.
I have taken DS to every appointment I have. Normally I keep him in his stroller facing me (with checking you might want to angle him facing your face and not other areas) I normally bring toys and snacks he can entertain himself with.
