does anyone else not have work benifits?  can i claim disablity in IL?

    check with your HR. if the company you work for has over a certain amount of employees, by law you can take leave via Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) .

    My company doesn't pay for maternity leave either, so I am planning on take the FMLA 12 week leave. 

    If you have been paying for short-term disability for at least 6 months (sometimes 12 months) before you were pregnant, you can use that.
