Anyone deliver there? I will be delivering there this summer and am curious what your experience was like? I will be going for the tour/childbirth class in a few weeks. Also, does anyone recommend a pediatrician in this network?
I had to switch docs and hospitals thanks to a change in insurance just prior to finding out I was pregnant. So far, I love, love my OB but don't know much else about the St Joe/resurrection network yet. Thanks!!
Re: St Joseph's Resurrection Hospital?
I'm delivering there in April, so I'll let you know! I am interested to see what people might have to say about it. I really want to do a natural birth and am thinking of hiring a doula to help make sure that happens. We go for our childbirth classes at the beginning of next month and I'm most looking forward to the tour of the birthing center.
I would reccommend my OB, but at this point I'm pretty frustrated with the office staff, so I'm not gonna do that to you! Good luck!
There's been another thread recently about people's expereinces with St. Joe's. I personally love it there but I'm a little partial (I'm a labor and delivery nurse there It's an older unit but large rooms and LDRP which the patients tend to like. I will be delivering there in August! Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Oh and we use Dr Ghaey's practice for our daughter. They are across the street in the Stone Medical Building. The entire group is good but our favorite is Dr. Reddy.
I delivered both of my daughters at St. Joseph, naturally. However, this hospital is known for lots of interventions, so if you're looking for a more natural approach you might be interested in looking around to another hospital. If you do stay with St. Joseph's I'd definitely recommend having a doula or other labor support person, especially if you are delivering naturally.
I hope that helps, I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have.
