Ladies! So I am hitting PCOS with full force, I have yet to test for insulin resistance or have an HSG but I will within the next week or two..havent started my cycle yet..so far I am still on Cycle 4 at CD32..anyway..
So far I have purchased a diabetic quick reference handbook for shopping/cooking/eating out ( I know, I know, I havent been diagnosed with IR or diabetes YET but hey, couldnt hurt right?!) and have A Patient's Guide to PCOS: Understanding and Reversing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome by Walter Futterweit (which I like so far)..
What books/meal books/cook books/PCOS related books can you recommend to us? Thanks!

Re: recommend your PCOS book/diet plan book etc
I haven't done anything that specific, but have one general IF book. I went for my Glucose tolerance test and I came back high for both insulin and glucose. When I went to see my GP about possible diabetes- she ran some other labs- including an A1c. They were all normal. I am being referred to an endocrinologist, and plan to follow up with that. It seems that perhaps I am naturally controlling my glucose levels- but the main concern is reducing my insulin levels as well. I am not sure how that could be monitored though.
Eating healthy is something I do anyways- but I don't feel like I could stick with a diet that is so restrictive unless I need to. I am not a sugar/carb fanatic anyway- so perhaps I am eating in a low glycemic way already. I plan to discuss meal plan options with the endo when I go in, but I would really like to just stick with my plan of eating lots of veggies, and not a lot of carbs/fat...

I do not have PCOS but do have a lot of extra weight to lose. I recently met with the nutritionalist at my RE's office and she put me on the same diet she would for someone who did have PCOS.
It is a low GI diet.
For the next 3 weeks until I meet with her again, she asked me to:
Eat immediately when I wake up and then every 3 hours, try to have protein at every meal, cut out sugar, most carbs, and anything artificial (splenda, diet coke, etc.), If I do eat any carbs or fruits I have to have a protein with it.
I mentioned to her I had recently bought the book "Belly Fat Cure" and she approved. She said it's similar to the plan she was putting me on.
