Benedryl

Ok, so I asked a pharmacist at Costco today if Benedryl was safe to take and he said no. When I was pregnant with Em, my OB told me it was perfectly fine. A friend of mine is currently taking it to help with her morning sickness. A bunch of other people have said their doctors have said it's fine and everything I've read has said that it's on the "safe list".

Should I just call my doctor and get his opinion? What have you heard? I'm just trying to figure out what I can and can't use once my allergies start kicking in.

I would ask your own doctor but I was allowed to take it. And I wasn't even allowed to color my hair!

I have four friends who are pharmacists, and all of them say that it is safe. My midwife, OB, and Family Practice Doc all said safe. It is on the safe list that they give you at the hospital. It's safe. Don't listen to the Costco Pharmacist.

I only survived my second tri because of benedryl. I have horrible allergies during spring. I also used it in third tri to help me sleep. If you are concerned though, there is no harm in calling to check with your doctor.
