...I really want to take away DH's XBox until he starts helping around the house. Like, ground him from it or take away his one-and-only controller or unhook the whole damn thing and send it to my parents'.
I think AF is returning so I'm kind of a crazy woman lately but seriously, I am tired of the XBox. If it wasn't for the Netflix that keeps me sane during DD's cluster feedings it might already be gone (like, out the window!).
I keep asking DH to vaccuum, to take care of the cardboard that has been piling up through the winter (it's good burning weather right now and we don't have garbage pickup here), etc and he says "I'll do it tonight" or "I'm going to do it on [insert day off here]."
Instead, he plays XBox and chats with his buddies all night, or gets all nerdy and plays around with his computer projects. Last night I let him download a new game but I was so tempted to treat him like a child and say "not until you do your chores."
I love DH but he has no idea how hard it is to EBF a newborn, take care of all of our animals (we breed and show chinchillas competitively and they take up a lot of time) and keep our big old farmhouse clean. I barely have time to eat!
Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: It might be childish, but... (NBR)
I have hid DH PS3 controllers before and also a game.. he used to get REALLY into his games (especially football for some reason) and broke a few things when the other team won or scored etc.. So I got tired of it and hid the stuff from him.. This was a long time ago, and pretty childish on my part, but I say go for it!
Come on Sticky baby!!

This, totally, is my DH in a nutshell. It's that damn game!
I'm fine with him wanting to unwind after work - he works 50+ hours a week and has a lot of stress in his position and that's fine. But he doesn't need to "unwind" every hour that he's home! I took care of the house and the animals and found time to unwind while working full time (more than 40 hours a week) and going to school part time. Hell, I found time while I was going to school full time and working two jobs!
I think he's going to have to have a serious conversation with me tomorrow...
(For the record I've been on the XBox all day... watching "The Tudors" while DD fed, but I also cleaned the kitchen, did the dishes and cleaned the living room).
