Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Feel like I can't catch a break

I've had a rough time dealing with my m/c, so I've been putting all my energy into my puppy. Well today we just found out there has been noise complaints about him, and we are to get rid of him immediately. Really, can I please just have one thing go right?!

Re: Feel like I can't catch a break

  • I literally uttered the words I "feel like I can't catch a break" today to my husband.

I am SO sorry for your loss and your puppy situation.  Can you appeal the noise complaints or enroll him in puppy class and show your apartment/neighbor the enrollment and see if you can get an extension on getting rid of him until you have a chance to train him fully?

This.  It seems kind of sudden that they would make you just get rid of your puppy without much notice.  That's just cruel.

  • Agree with both PP.  I would flip out if someone said we had to get rid of our dog.  If you own your home, this sounds illegal.  If you live in an apartment or rental, then you should be able to appeal it.  If a place allows dogs, then neighbors need to expect a reasonable amount of dog related noise.  Has he attacked anyone?? If not, I really think no one can make you get rid of him.

If anything, is there someone he can stay with until you can move??

I'm  so so very sorry, this made me cry so much for you! I think my outlet will be exercise. Again, I am so sorry for all that's happening but things will get better.

  • Thanks for all your support. Its not really a pet friendly apt complex, but everyone has dogs. Even the apt manager, so technically it's legal what they are doing. He's never bitten anyone. He's the friendliest little guy. He's a jack russell so he's hyper, but he's well behaved. I can try and talk to the manager but I don't think they will budge in their decision. I even considered moving but my husband lost his jobs a few weeks back and we don't have the funds to move. Just a really bad spell of bad luck all at once. Everyone keeps telling me there's light at the end of the tunnel and everything happens for a reason, I just wish I could see that now. Sorry for the pitty party.
