Any BG moms?

Just wondering if there are any other Bowling Green moms out there??

Re: Any BG moms?

  • There's me!  I thought I was the only one left from down here.  Welcome to the board and congratulations!
We've been down here for about a year and a half now, and this little one is our first.
How are you feeling so far?

  • I'm feeling great! I feel best when I snack all day. How are you doing? I'm going to Dr. Lyons on the 28th. I can't wait!
  • I'm glad you're feeling good!

Right now I just feel enormously pregnant.  *laughs*  I figured out this afternoon that I've been having some Braxton-Hicks contractions for the past few days, which basically just amounts to having moments where I'm more uncomfortable than I was during the previous five minutes.  Like right now, actually.  :P

I hope your appointment goes well on the 28th, and enjoy everything!  Feel free to PM me or whatever if you want to chat.

  • I hope the Braxton-Hicks go away! I can imagine that you don't need one more thing to make you uncomfortable. I haven't been in this area very long. Do you mind me asking you where you're having your baby? I know there are two hospitals here but I wasn't sure if both of them deliver or not? Just curious.
  • Apparently the contractions are probably around to stay at this point (although I'm going to check with Dr. Kasica tomorrow to be sure), but for the most part right now they're not too bad.

I don't mind answering that at all!  Greenwood doesn't have a Labor and Delivery ward anymore, so all the babies delivered in Bowling Green/Warren County are delivered down at the Medical Center.  They're having an Expectant Parent Fair at 2 pm on the 27th, apparently (it's on their class calendar); we got some good freebies and won a nice door prize when we went last year.

The Medical Center also does a whole bunch of prenatal classes that are useful.  Here's a link to them: https://www.mcbg.org/featured/obstetrics_and_neonatology/obstetrics/classes.aspx

I won't say that it's the best place EVAR to have a baby (my SIL was at Central Baptist up in Lexington last year, and there were definitely some things I liked better up there, like full-time rooming-in), but they have a neonatologist on staff, and I've definitely been in some L&D/maternity wards I'd never, ever trust my body and baby to.

I see Dr. Stice and he is AMAZING!!! Not to mention that docs at the Maternal Fetal Group, who will be monitoring my pregnancy in a few weeks! I am High risk so I will need LOTS AND LOTS of prayer that this pregnancy goes GREAT!!!!
