Does this mean we are sleep deprived?

I woke up in the middle of the night hitting DH asking him to wake up and hand me a burp rag from our nightstand because Isaac spit up. When he handed it to me I went down to wipe his mouth of just to realize there was no baby there. And then I freaked out because I had no idea where he was and for a second I thought he rolled off the bed. I then realized he was sleeping, and had been for hours, in his swing. I distinctly remember feeding him but apparently it didn't happen.

Then later on at that night DH kept trying to turn off the lamp (the only light on in the dark room) but the switch would not turn so he was getting super frustrated. I almost didn't have the heart to tell him the light was already off...but I did anyways and laughed my patooty off at him.

Last night was a rough night I guess. Tongue Tied

LOL.  I remember and dread those days.  There were many times I woke up in a panic because I couldn't find the baby (who was in his PnP right next to me).  I also once woke up to DH attempting to burp me.

    Indifferent

    Hahahahahaha

  • That happened to me up until my daughter was almost 12 months of age.  It has happened to me once this time.  I actually got so sleep deprived I had sleep paralysis once.  My neurologist told me that it was common in the new mommy population.  This probably won't be the first time you are sifting through your sheets to find that your baby is either sleeping somewhere safe in your room....or even in their own crib in their room! UGH....

  • Haha, I would say yes. Its ok, we are too! The  other  night  I bitched out DH for not feeding LO a bottle I had only dreamed pumping...Yeah, heres hoping it gets  better !
  • DH left the lights on in the car for the second time since DD was born and drained the battery.  He came home and realized I had left the freezer door open for at least an hour.  Lovely.  just lovely.  Guess we haven't adjusted to little sleep yet either.

  • Haha! This has happened to me also. I will think I left her in bed with us after feeding, only to realize she never woke up and is still in the bassinet next to me.

But, I also went to take my son to baseball tryouts the other day and my husband called me to let me know I had left the front door wide open and the dog was still at the back door waiting to be let in....but he didn't get me on the my cell because I had left that too. I said now that I have one more BIG thing to remember (the baby) I need to be expected to forget a couple other things.
