Babies: 3 - 6 Months

is Sophie really worth it?

Alright, after seeing sooo many posts about this damn Giraffe I decided to check it out...holy pricey! So I checked amazon and found some new ones for around $15.00. Still way more than I want to pay for something like that, but if it works it will be worth it. I went on everyones suggestions about the seahorse and he loves it, so now I need to know if this Sophie chick is worth it. TIA!

  • Remy loves the squeaky noise she makes. When he's upset I will give it to him and he will squeeze her till she squeaks and he smiles. So yes, I think $15 is worth the sanity for me. But it's really a child by child basis. Also it works as a great teether. He loves chewing on her leg.

she is a teether that is supposed to really help
  • I just ordered mine last week, They have her on the Huggies rewards site now! She costs 450 points. I'm so glad I waited and saved my points :)  Can't wait for S to be able to try it out.

ETA: And I'm so glad I didn't just say screw it, and get it at the store for $20.

  • I initially felt the same way.  I thought Sophie was waaay overpriced and totally not necessary.  However, when she first began teething, she really couldn't grab onto regular teethers.  So I broke down and bought Sophie, paying 22 bucks at BRU.  Totally worth it! Evee loves Sophie, she gnaws on her legs all the time!

  • Sophie and Dominic are pretty tight.  Im still not sure about Sophies friend Ms. Nipple-you know the blue and white thingy?
  • I am considering getting Sophie, but I am scared that it will turn into a very expensive chew toy for my dog! Anyone had any problems with their dogs wanting the "chew toy"???
  • I thought a $20 chew toy (essentially, that is what it is) was crazy. I bought it and from the second I gave it to Joel, he has loved her.

    Their love affair is wicked.

  • Totally worth it.  Especially since everything DS gets now goes into his mouth, its easy for him to hold and he just goes to town.  I got mine as a gift but it doubles as a toy and teether so I guess I don't feel like $15-20 is too bad.

  • Thanks for all the input...I went ahead and bought it. Let's hope it works!
  • i'd say its worth the investment.  DD isn't actively teething yet, but every time she gets near sophie, she starts gnawing on her.  she loves it!
