I am so excited! We finally bought a learning tower for Matthew. I can't wait for it to arrive as I know that he is just going to LOVE it and it will make my life so much easier. Now if only they delivered mail on Sundays lol...
Do any of you have them for your LO?
Re: Learning Tower
I had to google this - but it looks good!
I just push a chair up to the counter though!
photonut - I am glad to hear that you are still using it.
Thats what we currently do but it makes me nervous to walk away to get ingredients, etc. Plus he tries to stretch and reach for things and would fall quite often if someone wasn't standing right there. I am sure that wouldn't be an issue once he gets older but for now I think the learning tower will really come in handy for us. Plus I bought it through Costco and it comes w/all of the accessories for a puppet theater.
I really want one- but couldn't find one nearby on CL and couldn't handle paying retail for it. Also I have no idea where we would put the thing when it's not in use. I wish there was a folding version.
The knock-off-wood lady did a version of one and I am going to try to get my dad to make one for us after he retires this summer.
I was interested in the accessories, but then I read the reviews of them and it made them sound not so great...
We have the chalk board/white board and again, DD uses that all the time. I think it's pretty good quality. I also got a piece of cloth to make a tent - that was a waste, I think.
They actually do have one that folds but you probably would want the Little Partners one as it is big enough 2 fit two kids on it. (I wish we were talented enough to make our own).
And who is the knock-off-wood lady?
Yeah- for the right price I would have driven that far, but for the most part they were only like $50 less than the cheapest new ones I could find.
Ana White is this semi-insane Alaskan woman who had a blog that was called knock-out knock-off wood, or something along those lines. She used to link/post pieces of furniture from Pottery Barn, PBKids, C&B, Restoration Hardware, etc. and then have plans on how to make the same thing at home for of course a fraction of the cost. She would title the entries w/ the same product names as the companies had them listed for...
Eventually the companies got sick of it, and send her cease & desist letters, threatened to sue, etc. so she changed the name of her blog to just her name, but she still posts plans on how to make stuff that is almost exactly like a lot of mass-produced popular furniture.
She did the entry below on the learning tower...
