Is anyone paying for expanded newborn screenings?

When DS was born, the state of KS only did a newborn blood test for like, 3 disorders - PKU, etc.  We sent off for a packet from StepOne Newborn screening for 100 dollars. StepOne screened for 55 disorders. 

The state now tests for 35 disorders and StepOne increasaed their fee to 200 bucks,  I am thinking about skipping the StepOne screening since it doubled in price, and the state has expanded so much of their screenings.

But of course I will feel guily if DS has a disorder we don't catch because I was too cheap to pay 200 dollars.

What is everyone doing on this?

    As of right now I am not planning to do any additional testing besides what the state does. I had considered it, though.

    My friend's 5 month old baby just died of SCID, something they should screen for, but don't yet in Florida.

    What kind of disorders does it screen for? My state screens for pretty much everything under the sun.

    We are banking the cord blood thru Viacord and they offer additional testing services for $140. It can be done with the same heel prick as the hospital already does, but is sent off separately. My DH handled this research so I have no insight other than to say yes, we are doing it.

    Lol thanks....I went on our health departments website and read up a lot more on it. I will probably talk to the pediatrician about if there is any need to do any further screening.
